The Roman period
Room 6
Two different worlds outline in this hall: the west part of Danube
became the part of the Roman Empire with a highly developed society
and with classic culture, while the east territory preserved its
'barbarian' iron-age characteristics. But these two parts interconnected;
sometimes they were enemies, sometimes as peaceful tradesmen. The
latter is presented in a market scene, somewhere at the 'limes'.
Curiosities:

Roman soldiers were trained to hurt the enemy by stab-wound,
as a six-centimeter deep wound was lethal due to contamination.
Beside weapons, other fighting-machines are exhibited at the
foot of the 'fortress'. |
